Caboose -Train Car Design
In this activity, we had to create a train car for the model train that we made. I chose to create a caboose.
About the Creation of the Caboose
First off, I made it so it has the same size base and wheels as the Model Train. I changed the wheel design by adding some half-spheres and removing the holes and linkage arm connectors. I also rounded the screw more, to make it more aesthetic, and I filleted and chamfered the magnet and hitch peg until I liked how it looked. I created a doorknob piece, to make it easier for me, and tried to make it somewhat to scale. Unfortunately, the wheels turned out to be way larger than I anticipated, and ended up covering most of the steps and breaks in the railing I made. I also had Inventor crash on me several times, and overall I lost about two-thirds of the time in class to Inventor crashing. I eventually finished, but was not able to do all the detail I wanted to. I did manage to create a lot of detail though, such as the embossed number "42" on both sides, and the indention in the doors, and I feel successful in that regard.
